The Dolomites (in Italian Dolomiti, in German Dolomiten, in Friulian Dolomitis) are a mountain range in the Alps, located in Northern Italy, primarily in the Belluno province of the Veneto region. Geologically, these mountains are made of light-colored dolomite limestone, which has been shaped by erosion into stunning, photogenic formations. The dramatic shapes of these mountains make them an incredibly visual destination, and it is this uniqueness that attracts photographers from around the world.
Autumn is the perfect season for this magical journey, when the valleys and forests are adorned with beautiful colors. The uniquely bold peaks, towering above the green meadows and under the blue sky, offer an incredible and breathtaking view. Vertical cliffs, turquoise lakes reflecting the grandeur of the towering mountains, and alpine meadows reminiscent of Switzerland, create a landscape like no other. Vast pine and larch forests display their most vibrant and beautiful colors during the fall. At sunrise and sunset, the peaks of the Dolomites glow in warm shades of orange and gold. Join us on this Dolomites photography workshop – a journey that offers photographic opportunities beyond your expectations! The Dolomites in Northern Italy are one of the country’s most iconic destinations, attracting photographers from all over the world year after year.
During the photography workshop, we will not only explore the most stunning locations but also provide a deeper insight into both the technical and artistic aspects of photography. Through individual and group lessons, practical assignments, and personalized feedback, we ensure that every participant experiences significant improvement in their skills.

During the workshop, we will spend 4 nights in the picturesque town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, located in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. We believe this region is one of Europe’s most stunning mountain landscapes, offering unique lighting conditions and dramatic formations that make it a perfect destination for landscape photography enthusiasts. In October, the Dolomites transform into a palette of golden and red hues, and the vibrant colors of autumn enhance the iconic peaks, lakes, and alpine meadows of the region. In the early hours of the morning, mystical fog often appears, creating a magical atmosphere as the first light of day illuminates the mountain peaks. Throughout the photography workshop, we will take advantage of the best lighting conditions, meaning we will shoot early in the morning and late afternoon (at sunrise and sunset). During the day, we will explore the surrounding iconic locations, such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Lago di Braies, and Passo Giau, where we will capture the grand shapes of the Dolomites from unique perspectives. While we focus on capturing the breathtaking landscape and the harmony of the alpine environment, we will also place a special emphasis on the conscious use of composition, light, and color to create visually powerful images. The following itinerary serves as a guideline, as we will always adapt to the weather and lighting conditions, ensuring that we provide the best possible photography experience.
Arrival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where we check in to our accommodation, which will serve as our base for the upcoming days. We spend the first afternoon exploring and photographing nearby mountain passes, where the first dramatic views of the Dolomites unfold before us. In the evening, we gather for a group dinner at our accommodation, where we will discuss the workshop’s theme and individual goals for personal growth during the course.
At sunrise, we begin our photography session at Lake Misurina, where the reflecting water and the morning mist hovering between the mountains create a mystical atmosphere. After breakfast, we travel to Falzarego Pass, where contrasting light and the high vantage points offer unique perspectives for our shots. In the afternoon, we continue our photography at Lake Braies, an iconic crystal-clear lake nestled between towering mountains—one of the Dolomites’ most famous landmarks. Here, we will focus on reflection compositions, exploring the textures of the water’s surface and the play of light and shadow. Before sunset, we will visit the best photography spots along the lake, capturing the stunning scenery, then enjoy a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant.
At sunrise, we will be at Lake Carezza, where the awakening light and the mirror-like surface of the water create a unique spectacle. After breakfast, we head to Santa Maddalena, where the iconic peaks of the Dolomites and small alpine villages offer fairytale-like subjects for our photography. Throughout the day, we will focus on composition exercises, discussing how to make a landscape unique and dynamic according to the lighting conditions at hand. In the afternoon, we will fine-tune our photographic techniques, paying attention to perspective and depth of field to capture the perfect shot. At sunset, we photograph the rolling hills and church steeples, capturing the idyllic landscape bathed in warm light. In the evening, we gather for dinner and a group photo review, analyzing the images taken throughout the day.
By sunrise, we will be at Giau Pass, where the valleys between rocky peaks and the shadows formed by the morning light provide the perfect opportunity for capturing stunning compositions. The focus will be on telephoto techniques, with particular attention to emphasizing mountain formations and the depth of distant landscapes. Throughout the day, we will continue our photography at Lago di Landro, where the reflected mountains and the varied foreground offer fantastic opportunities for exploring creative perspectives. As the day concludes, we will end with a final sunset shoot at one of the Dolomites’ most breathtaking viewpoints, capturing the stunning beauty of the landscape as it is bathed in the golden light of sunset.
After our final breakfast, we begin our journey home, but not before making a few last photography stops to bid farewell to the rock spires and high-altitude panoramas of the Dolomites. After an intense and enriching week, we return home, filled with inspiration and breathtaking images to cherish and share.
This photography workshop is more than just a trip – it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and receive personalized guidance from professional photographers. Our goal is for you to return home not only with amazing experiences but also with new skills and stunning images. To capture the best possible photos, you may sometimes need to make small sacrifices. Unexpected situations—such as weather changes or environmental factors—might require us to adjust the planned itinerary. Your safety is our top priority. If a program needs to be canceled or rescheduled, it will only be done to ensure you have the best possible experience. We reserve the right to modify the itinerary if necessary. Our main focus is photography. If an unforeseen event prevents a scheduled activity from taking place at the designated time, our tour leader will make every effort to reschedule or reorganize the program. Our priority is that you enjoy the experience, but the final decisions rest with us, and all participants are required to follow them. Good health is a basic requirement for participating in the trip. Serious cardiovascular conditions, neurological disorders, and mental health issues are disqualifying factors. If you have any medical concerns, please consult your doctor before joining.
Our expert guides will help you find the perfect settings, create the best compositions, and make the most of natural light conditions. We provide individual attention to each participant and adapt to the environment. If the weather or lighting isn’t ideal, we’ll return at a better time to ensure you capture your subject in the best possible conditions. One thing is certain: thanks to our camera’s memory (and our own, of course), the memories of this journey will stay with us forever.

I hiked, climbed mountains, and then I wanted to bring home what I saw in the mountains, so photography came into my life as a hobby, and after ten years as a profession. I’ve shared my experiences and what I’ve seen with the public in several exhibitions and travelogues. Since I decided to get the FIAP (Fédération Internationale de I’Art Photographique), I have been awarded special prizes, distinctions and acceptances in international competitions. I want to show our travellers the exciting and varied world of landscape photography.

I started my photography journey with bird photography, achieving great results in both national and international competitions. Over time, my interest shifted towards landscape photography, and soon, I also delved into the fascinating world of drone photography. My work has been successfully recognized in prestigious competitions such as National Geographic, Nature Photographer of the Year, Magical Hungary, PCCS International Salon, Sony, vadon.ro, IBP Dreamscapes International Salon, MAFOSZ, FIAP, Pannonia Reflections, BPOTY, and WildLifePhoto. My photographs are featured in permanent exhibitions, and I have also published several self-published books showcasing my work.

Photography is not just a hobby for me – it is a passion inspired by my love of nature. I am fascinated by the beauty of the landscape and the uniqueness of the built environment. Photographic tours allow us to get closer to the wonders of nature, to discover the beauty that surrounds us and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Besides landscape photography, interior and street photography have a special place in my life. In 2023, I tried to deepen my knowledge in this field by taking a course in Street Photography at MOME. My pictures try to capture the special atmosphere of each location, the magic of the moment and the diversity of the world.
