Our passenres told about us

The main focus of this tour is photography, and we shape the schedule so that everyone can head home with as many beautiful, high-quality shots as possible.

Workshop description

During the workshop, we will spend 4 nights in the picturesque town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, located in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. We believe this region is one of Europe’s most stunning mountain landscapes, offering unique lighting conditions and dramatic formations that make it a perfect destination for landscape photography enthusiasts.

In October, the Dolomites transform into a palette of golden and red hues, and the vibrant colors of autumn enhance the iconic peaks, lakes, and alpine meadows of the region. In the early hours of the morning, mystical fog often appears, creating a magical atmosphere as the first light of day illuminates the mountain peaks.

Throughout the photography workshop, we will take advantage of the best lighting conditions, meaning we will shoot early in the morning and late afternoon (at sunrise and sunset). During the day, we will explore the surrounding iconiclocations, such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Lago di Braies, and Passo Giau, where we will capture the grand shapes of the Dolomites from unique perspectives.

While we focus on capturing the breathtaking landscape and the harmony of the alpine environment, we will also place a special emphasis on the conscious use of composition, light, and color to create visually powerful images. The following itinerary serves as a guideline, as we will always adapt to the weather and lighting conditions, ensuring that we provide the best possible photography experience.

Day 1 – Arrival & First Photography Experiences

Arrival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where we check in to our accommodation, which will serve as our base for the upcoming days. We spend the first afternoon exploring and photographing nearby mountain passes, where the first dramatic views of the Dolomites unfold before us. In the evening, we gather for a group dinner at our accommodation, where we will discuss the workshop’s theme and individual goals for personal growth during the course.

Day 2 – Exploring Iconic Lakes & Mountain Passes

We begin the morning by the shores of Lake Landro, where the mirror-still surface reflects the surrounding peaks and the floating morning mist creates a magical, dreamlike atmosphere. After breakfast, we continue to Lake Braies — one of the Dolomites’ most iconic locations, famous for its crystal-clear waters and magnificent mountain ring. Here, we’ll experiment with reflections, delicate water textures, and the play of light and shadow to capture the lake’s ever-changing moods. Throughout the day, we’ll make several stops to photograph the region’s diverse scenery from unique viewpoints. We’ll end the day at the picturesque Lake Limides, where the sunset bathes the mountains in golden light. The evening concludes with a group dinner in the hotel’s cozy restaurant.

Day 3 – Harmony of Colors & Shapes

At sunrise, we’ll be waiting by Lake Misurina to capture the first light of the day. The sun’s early rays, the calm water, and the surrounding peaks create a painterly scene — a perfect start to a photography-filled day. After breakfast, we’ll head toward the Cinque Torri area, where the Dolomites’ iconic rock towers offer fairy-tale-like subjects and exciting compositional possibilities. During the morning, we’ll practice composition exercises and discuss how to make our landscape photos more distinctive and dynamic by taking advantage of the given lighting conditions. The afternoon focuses on fine-tuning technical skills — especially perspective and the creative use of depth of field. Later, we’ll visit the small church of Selva di Cadera, where the interplay of light and shadow creates a unique atmosphere. We’ll spend sunset on the slopes of the Passo Giau, where the mountains glow in a golden hue — a breathtaking close to the day. The evening concludes with dinner and a group photo review, filled with inspiring discussions and constructive feedback.

Day 4 – Dramatic Beauty of Mountains & Passes

At dawn, we return to the Giau Pass, using the valleys and shadows sculpted by the morning light to create striking compositions. We’ll focus on telephoto techniques to emphasize the mountain formations and depth of the landscape. Later, we’ll hike among the legendary peaks of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, where each step reveals a new angle and photographic opportunity. We’ll stop at classic vantage points such as Forcella Lavaredo and Rifugio Locatelli to capture the famous trio of peaks from different perspectives. We’ll stay for sunset as the rocks glow with the characteristic enrosadira light — the Dolomites’ signature pinkish-gold radiance. A perfect end to an inspiring day in the mountains.

Day 5 – Farewell to the Dolomites

After our final breakfast, we begin our journey home, saying goodbye to the Dolomites’ towering rock spires and panoramic alpine views. After an intense and rewarding week, we return filled with inspiration and breathtaking photographs.

This photo workshop is more than just a trip—it’s a space to learn, grow, and get personal guidance from pro photographers. Our goal is that you return home not only with unforgettable memories, but also with new knowledge and stunning images. To capture the best possible photos, sometimes a bit of sacrifice is needed. Weather changes or other unexpected factors may occasionally affect the planned schedule. But your safety always comes first. If something gets postponed or rescheduled, it’s only to ensure you get the best possible experience.

We reserve the right to make program changes if needed.

The main focus of this trip is photography. If something unexpected comes up and a scheduled activity can’t happen at the planned time, our guide will do their best to rearrange or adjust it. We want you to have an amazing time—but we also make the final calls, and it’s important that all participants respect these decisions.

To join the trip, good physical health is required. Serious cardiovascular issues or neurological/mental health disorders may be exclusion criteria. If you’re unsure about your condition, it’s essential to check with your doctor beforehand.

Would you like to take professional photos too?

Our guides will help you find the perfect angle, the best composition, and make the most out of the available light.

We work with every participant individually and stay flexible to adapt to the conditions around us.

If the weather or lighting isn’t quite right, we’ll come back to the same spot—because we want you to capture your subject in the best possible conditions.

One thing’s for sure: thanks to your camera’s memory (and your own), the memories of this trip will stay with you forever.

Tour guide

I hiked, climbed mountains, and then I wanted to bring home what I saw in the mountains, so photography came into my life as a hobby, and after ten years as a profession. I’ve shared my experiences and what I’ve seen with the public in several exhibitions and travelogues. Since I decided to get the FIAP (Fédération Internationale de I’Art Photographique), I have been awarded special prizes, distinctions and acceptances in international competitions. I want to show our travellers the exciting and varied world of landscape photography.

I started my photography journey with bird photography, achieving great results in both national and international competitions. Over time, my interest shifted towards landscape photography, and soon, I also delved into the fascinating world of drone photography. My work has been successfully recognized in prestigious competitions such as National Geographic, Nature Photographer of the Year, Magical Hungary, PCCS International Salon, Sony, vadon.ro, IBP Dreamscapes International Salon, MAFOSZ, FIAP, Pannonia Reflections, BPOTY, and WildLifePhoto. My photographs are featured in permanent exhibitions, and I have also published several self-published books showcasing my work.

Tour guide

Photography is not just a hobby for me – it is a passion inspired by my love of nature. I am fascinated by the beauty of the landscape and the uniqueness of the built environment. Photographic tours allow us to get closer to the wonders of nature, to discover the beauty that surrounds us and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Besides landscape photography, interior and street photography have a special place in my life. In 2023, I tried to deepen my knowledge in this field by taking a course in Street Photography at MOME. My pictures try to capture the special atmosphere of each location, the magic of the moment and the diversity of the world.
